CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE

WHY BECOME A CHILD SPONSOR?

Child sponsorship (SAD) is an opportunity to improve the life of a child and create a unique and lasting bond that will change both of your lives. Your contribution will allow the child to attend school, to receive constant nutritional support, become healthier and profit fully from their unique life journey and successes.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our child sponsorship program is a concrete support for children in need, which is designed to accompany and support the young person throughout the course of their development. It is a free and continual contribution that can be renewed every year until the child reaches the age of 18.

When choosing to financially support a young person, you will immediately receive information about the child and you will be constantly updated with the events happening in the young person's life through photos, letters and drawings. You decide on the duration of the sponsorship, but in the instance of a cancellation, please contact us immediately so that we can find another supporter as soon as possible.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Supporting a child at a distance with us costs 310 Euro per year, which is less than 1 Euro per day. Your contribution is used over the course of the year for the following services :

  • food support for the child and his family;
  • payment of school fees and purchase of school materials, or financing of vocational training courses for older children;
  • medical and healthcare expenses;
  • community-based activities promoting children's rights;
  • child sponsorship management expenses.

    Your support expenses are also tax deductible.
OUR ACTIVE SAD

There are currently child sponsorship programmes in Ethiopia and Cambodia for children and young people from disadvantaged family and social backgrounds.

Goal

Our aim is to reduce the number of children on the streets and cases of child prostitution through educational, food and health assistance programmes.

What we do

We provide a safe space for vulnerable children from very poor families where they can study, have access to a hot meal every day and medical care. In this safe space, they can also play sports, learn and have someone to take care of them.
Since 2010, the centre has welcomed more than 100 children a year who have had the opportunity to attend and complete primary school. This education kick-starts their journey out of the vicious poverty cycle, allowing them to look forward to a different future filled with dignity, opportunity and hope.
We guarantee health care with two medical check-ups a year, and provide school uniforms and stationery to all the children in the centre.
Goal

Our aim is to help contribute to the improvement of the status of women in Ethiopia, a country where access to education, especially for girls, is still not guaranteed.

What we do

Through the school residence, we provide accommodation for 30 secondary school girls. Without us, these young women would be unable to attend classes regularly due to the enormous distances between their homes and their school.
We provide the students with school uniforms, books, educational material and hygiene products. We help them start prosperous careers by providing them with small loans to help kickstart their own businesses. We also promote access to education campaigns through training sessions organised for local communities.
Goal

To support children with HIV and AIDS, alleviating the side effects of the disease and enabling regular school attendance.

What we do

Through our intervention we strive to improve the physical and mental health conditions of the beneficiaries. We also offer support to their family members, which ensures regular school attendance to ease the social inclusion of children who are often victims of discrimination.
Through accessing vocational training, we also create employment opportunities to accompany paid or self-employed work. This facilitates socio-economic inclusion and strengthen families economically. We also promote programmes to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS in communities, which aim to reduce infection and discrimination.
